Objective:
This project was an expansion on the MPD controller line. The directive was to maintain the strong family identity yet develop a more professional and feature-driven design appeal.
Design Solution:
The formal geometry of the MPD32 was driven heavily by the existing MPD24 controller. However, the feature set on the 32 was heavier and required the footprint of the unit to grow significantly. In order to offset the visual impact of this growth I lowered the profile slightly and introduced a more pronounced handle design that served to "lift" the unit and generate the illusion of being thinner.
